I am currently working on a collection inspire by Japanese print and design. The design is everything from fashion to packaging, something which is of great consideration there; compared with here in Europe. Symbols and patterns are prolific in Japan. Reoccurring themes and images provide an underlying sense of order and symmerty to an outwardly frenetic world. These repetitive images are woven into the fabric of society and form the basis of a nation that is long accustomed to visual forms of communication. Folding and tucking are inherent to the Japanese, so is something which I definitely be exploring through the collection.
